Sleep, Quilombola, Amazon
Insomnia is one of the most common mental health problems in contemporary society, affecting approximately 30-35% of the world's population. This sleep disorder is characterized by dissatisfaction with the quality of sleep. Its etiology is multifactorial, but psychosocial stress is one of the main predisposing factors, being related to various types of physical and mental illnesses. Its treatment consists of sleep hygiene measures based on cognitive-behavioral therapies (CBT) which, in addition to being an effective and low-cost therapeutic approach, can be easily disseminated by health professionals, especially those in Primary Health Care.
The objective of this study is to develop a regionalized sleep hygiene education guide that will improve the sleep quality of primary care professionals in the Curiaú quilombo in Macapá-AP.
The methodology chosen was descriptive-exploratory quantitative for the development of light technology through the completion of the Sleep Hygiene Index, validated for the Portuguese language. The elaboration of the pre-project was developed through a literature review of articles published on non-pharmacological measures for insomnia management and sleep hygiene between 2018 and 2023. Based on the results, it is expected that the guide will be effective in improving the quality of sleep of the participants, being relevant to PHC in Amapá, contributing to the promotion of mental health and quality of life in the region.
