This paper aims to investigate issues related to multilingual practices in the landscape and the policies for organizing linguistic space in order to understand ecology and border formation as linguistic ecotones in the communities of Vila Vitória (BR) and Saint-Georges (FR). This study is based on the theoretical and methodological assumptions of Ecolinguistics, defended by Haugen (1972), Couto (2002-2018), Albuquerque (2020), associated with the propositions on Linguistic Policy present in Calvet (1996-2002), Savedra and Lagares (2012), Spolsky (2016), as well as on the notion of the environment as a physical space that reflects linguistic dynamics, observable in the approaches on the Linguistic Landscape of Shohamy and Gorter (2009), Day (2024), among others. The research is basic in nature, employing aspects of applied research with a mixed approach. Data collection is multifaceted, involving imagery research, ethnographic observation and interviews, with a view to examining the formation of a border linguistic ecotone. The proposed analysis was carried out on the basis of the constructed collection of the observed linguistic landscape and the interview reports segmented into micro-areas which are the speech communities
