SUMMARY:

Açaí represents not only a food of high nutritional value but also a key element of cultural and economic identity for the population of the state of Amapá, Brazil. Despite its relevance, the açaí production chain faces structural challenges, particularly concerning sanitary safety in the fruit processing. The sanitary inspection process of açaí processing units—traditionally carried out manually—presents limitations that hinder traceability, transparency, and efficiency in managing sanitary licensing, which directly affects food safety and consumer trust.

This study aimed to develop a web platform designed to modernize the sanitary inspection of açaí production in the state of Amapá, with a focus on the reality of small producers, known as batedores de açaí. The development of the solution involved mapping the current inspection and commercialization scenario of açaí, designing a digital system for sanitary license management, and producing the operational documentation of the tool.

The research adopted an applied, exploratory, and descriptive approach, using incremental software development methodology, requirement gathering with regulatory agencies, analysis of current sanitary legislation, and data collection through interviews and an online questionnaire directed at açaí consumers, which received 417 valid responses. Results showed that 91.1% of consumers were willing to pay more for açaí from properly licensed establishments, indicating a clear social demand for food safety and transparent information.

The developed platform allows businesses to complete online registration, request inspections, track the licensing process, and obtain a digital quality seal, all accessible through a public portal. The tool also enables consumers to search for licensed establishments, strengthening the principles of traceability and conscious consumption.

The platform was validated by public health professionals from the Superintendence of Health Surveillance of the State of Amapá and the Municipal Health Surveillance Department of Macapá. The validation process indicated high acceptance of the solution, highlighting its ease of use, clarity of information, and alignment with operational needs. It is concluded that the platform has strong potential to transform the sanitary inspection process of the açaí production chain in Amapá, contributing to the strengthening of food safety, the promotion of good sanitary practices, the formalization of local businesses, and the generation of economic, social, and technological impacts in the regional context. The proposed solution also represents a significant contribution to scientific progress in the field of technology development applied to public management and food safety.
