SUMMARY:

Considering the presence of indigenous populations in the municipality of Oiapoque-AP and their process of struggle against historical erasure, the aim is to present who these groups are and how they are constituted in the space in which they find themselves in recent times based on the concept of Ethnic Border. To this end, we use the bibliography related to the subject, data from the IBGE census and analysis of the periodicals O Mensageiro and Porantim based on Laurencen Bardin. Thus, it is observed that the indigenous populations: Galibi Kalinã, Galibi Marworno, Karipuna and Palikur present their own characteristics, traditions, customs and ways of living, even though they are within a space constituted by the State, with spatial borders that were not constructed by them, which allows us to conclude that, in the face of the historical process of marginalization and attacks on their way of life, these indigenous peoples organized themselves, exist and resist the actions of non-indigenous people, which resulted in the demarcation of their lands.
